Education

The VIMS Marine Advisory Program/Virginia Sea Grant Extension education team offers resources and services in ocean sciences education for diverse audiences. If you are a teacher or student, have a professional or personal interest in the ocean, or just a desire to learn more about marine environments and issues we have something for you!

For K-12 Science Educators

We offer workshops locally and at regional and national conferences and facilitate graduate-level field courses each summer. Our extensive collection of online teaching resources, available on our Bridge and VA SEA pages, will put your students on the fast track to ocean literacy. And be sure to check out the Multimedia Resource Center for a wide selection of videos, creature profiles, and more!

For Research Partners

Looking to inspire the next generation of oceanographers? Our team works with scientists at VIMS and beyond to develop educational activities that illustrate cutting-edge research using real-world data sets. Scientists interested in collaborating on outreach projects can visit our Broader Impacts page for more information.

For the Community

The Marine Advisory Program invites individuals and families to explore marine science through VIMS Marine Science Day and other public programs.
