Volunteer With Us!
Giving your time through volunteering is a great way to help make an impact. Volunteer positions are available with our outreach and educational programs and occasionally with specific research programs. Volunteer positions will be posted below when they become available.
Opportunities
- The Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) and Wetlands Watch are seeking volunteers to help with "Catch the King" - the world's largest environmental survey. To learn more and register to volunteer, visit the "Catch the King" webpage.
- Help gather data to advance documentation of tidal shoreline conditions! MapMyShore, a mobile app, relies on community scientists to update and validate shoreline assessments through collecting photographs and mapping shoreline features. Learn more about the project (and download the app) by visiting this website.
- VIMS' Outreach group is attempting to recruit a new cohort of volunteers to help staff public outreach and education events throughout the year (e.g. leading behind-the-scenes tours of campus, staffing fair and festival exhibits, and more). If you are interested in volunteering with VIMS' Outreach program, please fill out the volunteer application form.
