Client Support for Technology Needs
Client Support is the first stop for day-to-day technology needs at the Batten School & VIMS. The team provides computer and device setup, replacement, and troubleshooting, along with account, access, and login assistance. They support core productivity and collaboration tools, maintain classroom and conference room AV systems, and manage ticketing, knowledge base resources, and training for the Batten School & VIMS community. Their goal is to ensure a consistent and equitable technology experience for every member of the institute, regardless of role or location.
Research and Data Solutions
We help researchers modernize the process of turning field data into actionable insight. Our team supports advanced computing, data management, artificial intelligence and machine learning pipelines, and cloud-based research workflows. These efforts directly align with our goal to accelerate science with technology and strengthen collaboration across W&M computing and data science communities.
Technology Partnership and Consulting
We serve as trusted technology partners by translating ideas into secure, scalable solutions. The Batten School & VIMS IT maintains close engagement with faculty and staff, provides guidance early in grant development, and collaborates with W&M IT to determine the best use of enterprise and local solutions.
Classroom, Teaching, and Learning Support
We design, upgrade, and maintain technology-enabled learning environments, from smart classrooms to e-learning. The Batten School & VIMS IT also provides resources and digital accessibility guidance to support professional development and equitable access to technology.
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure
We steward the institute’s technology infrastructure, including networking, systems architecture, cloud services, and cybersecurity operations.
