2022 VIMS Award winner Corinne Audemard with Dean & Director Derek Aday. The 2022 award goes to Corinne Audemard.

Corinne is well deserving of this award having sustained a successful and productive career addressing ecological interactions of shellfish pathogens in coastal ecosystems and, more recently, environmental change and Vibrio ecology. During her past two decades at VIMS Corinne has been Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator on over 20 federal grants and published 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts, serving as first author on 12 of them. Additionally, she has provided valuable data to Virginia regulatory agencies and shellfish industry members.

However, these data only tell part of the story. Corinne is an original thinker who encourages and thrives in a collaborative environment. She leads research projects but also regularly contributes to other scholarly endeavors at VIMS and elsewhere. Corinne is also a valued contributor to the Shellfish Aquaculture Program at VIMS and is one of the key researchers involved in addressing industry shellfish hatchery production issues. VIMS is very fortunate to have a scientist and colleague of her stature and scholarship.

Congratulations, Corinne!
