Office of Sponsored Programs

The VIMS Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) manages extramural funding received by investigators at VIMS. We handle application submissions, award negotiations, reporting, financial and compliance administration.

Only OSP is authorized to sign research contracts and grants on behalf of VIMS, as well as negotiated indirect costs, or contracts.

It is OSP's mission to:

Provide outstanding and timely service to VIMS research community
Advocate for and protect the interests of the Commonwealth, the institution, and researchers in interactions with sponsors
Maintain the highest standards of accountability in all aspects of research management
