Biography
Riley Parker is a Sponsored Programs Administrator in the Office of Sponsored Programs at VIMS. He joined VIMS in December 2025.
Riley holds a Master of Science in Research Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from Washington and Lee University. He earned a Research Law Certificate from the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) in 2025 and completed SRAI's Research Contract Review and Negotiation Intensive.
Prior to joining VIMS, Riley served as a Senior Grants Specialist at James Madison University, where he supported faculty and staff across the university with proposal and budget development, interpretation of sponsor guidelines and federal regulations, and submission of proposals to external sponsors. He also served on JMU’s Institutional Biosafety Committee.
Outside of VIMS, Riley serves as the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Rocktown High School and is an avid golfer.
