Housekeeping
The custodial staff is responsible for custodial services in all areas of the Institute. This includes basements, attics, and entranceways as well as those areas regularly occupied. The custodial staff maintains two shifts from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm and from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Specific services include:
- Paper and trash disposal
- Dusting
- Wet and dry floor cleaning
- Glass and mirror cleaning
- Buffing and waxing of floors
- Chalkboard cleaning
- Cleaning and polishing of hardware
- Rug, carpet and mat cleaning
- Wall cleaning
- Drinking fountain cleaning
- Restroom cleaning
- Unlocking of buildings in the mornings
- Ordering and distribution of custodial supplies
The custodial staff also provides services required for special events on campus such as table and chair setups, coffee setups, cold drink setups, etc. Work requests are made through the Special Events Setup Request Form.
