Scientists in the Department of Aquatic Health Sciences focus on microorganisms, chemicals, heavy metals, and biotoxins that can deleteriously affect aquatic animals, ecosystems and public health.
Some current research themes include impacts of climate change, parasitology, marine plastics, aquaculture health management, genomics and transcriptomics, harmful algal blooms, environmental pollution, disease ecology, and biosensors.
