Graduate Program The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) offers graduate education in marine science through its School of Marine Science (SMS), which is a component of the College of William and Mary.
Giving The Development Office at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science is responsible for developing support from foundations, corporations, alumni, parents, and individuals for research, capital improvements and educational scholarships. The Development Office works with scientists, staff and graduate students to develop solicitations and proposals. Half of VIMS's total budget comes from the state with the balance funded from grants, contracts, and private contributions.
Ganges Brahmaputra Delta The study will test the hypothesis that at least half of the rivers' sediment load is being sequestered in the floodplain and delta plain, resulting in an evolution and facies architecture significantly different from classic deltaic models.
