VIMS Shoreline Management Plan

As with any shoreline within Virginia, both the VIMS east and west shorelines have endured several major storms over the past decade which called for an intensive initiative to create a breakwater system for high energy beaches. C. Scott Hardaway, Jr., VIMS Shoreline Studies Program, has been a key figure in the development and implementation of the VIMS Shoreline Management Plan. The shoreline plan provided here was part of a presentation by Scott Hardaway during a VIMS Tidal Wetlands Workshop on May 5, 2011.

Also provided was a historical look at the VIMS shoreline which included some impressive storm photos. Details of the plan can also be obtained in the full scanned permit for the VIMS shoreline management plan.
