This is a presentation of the final results for a hydrodynamic model study of the proposed Eastward Expansion of Craney Island, Port of Hampton Roads. This study began as a three-phase project in April, 2000, and all three phases have now been completed. Both primary and alternative expansion designs were evaluated as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). These designs included possible expansions to the east, north, and west as well as two hybrid designs (north/east, east/ west). The designs also incorporated two different project depths (50 and 55 ft) for the Norfolk Harbor Channel adjacent to Craney Island.
