Research Interests
My thesis work focuses on describing the community structure and measuring the grazing impacts of natural microzooplankton assemblages in the Western Antarctic Peninsula. My work is funded through the Palmer Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) study, a multi-disciplinary study in a location where microzooplankton have historically been understudied. My research involves field sampling and experimentation along with microscopic identification and enumeration of microzooplankton. I am also involved with the zooplankton component of the Palmer LTER, which seeks to describe the zooplankton assemblages along the Western Antarctic Peninsula, their role in carbon cycling, and the effects of climate change on community structure in this region.
