The Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Virginia is pleased to offer a one day workshop on Using Observing Systems to Address Coastal Management Issues.
Speakers will introduce participants to local and regional observing systems, including the Chesapeake Bay Observing System (CBOS), the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (MACOORA), and the Chesapeake Bay Interpretive Buoy System (CBIBS). The presenters will also explore ways in which use of observing systems can help predict and plan for weather changes, storm events, tides, flooding, and resource- and land-management issue. The audience will also hear about innovative technology used to track various ocean and bay features, and future directions and uses of observing systems.
There is no charge for this workshop, but pre-registration is required, and will be available on November 30, 2009 on the CBNERRVA website.
