Environmental monitoring has always been a part of VIMS Molluscan Ecology program field work at some level. In 2005, we established automated monitoring stations in four Chesapeake Bay tributaries to provide regular collection of environmental data at sites of interest. Two additional stations have been added in 2006. The locations of these sites are indicated by red circles on the map to the right. Information about and data from each of our monitoring stations may be obtained by clicking on the red circle of interest in the map at the right.

Our environmental monitoring partners include the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Program, the Virginia Marine Resources Commission Shellfish Conservation Division and the VIMS Department of Fisheries Science.
