Environmental monitoring at restoration sites

Accurate understanding of biological monitoring data requires environmental monitoring data collected from the same habitat on relevant spatial and temporal scales. Environmental monitoring stations have been established at oyster reef restoration sites that receive focused biological monitoring through the NORM program. These automated stations collect basic meterological and hydrographic data to facilitate interpretation of biological data at hourly intervals. The stations are built and maintained by the VIMS Molluscan Ecology program and Mr. Todd Nelson, VIMS Department of Physcial Sciences.
