MABPOM 2014

Mid-Atlantic Bight Physical Oceanography and Meteorology Conference

Thursday-Friday October 30-31, 2014

Virginia Institute of Marine Science
Gloucester Point, Virginia

Meeting agenda and abstracts are now available online!

The focus of the MABPOM conference is on the oceanography and meteorology of the Mid-Atlantic Bight and adjacent regions, including the Gulf of Maine, the shelf south of Cape Hatteras, as well as the coastal estuaries of the U.S. East Coast. Cross-disciplinary presentations are especially encouraged. The informal setting of the MABPOM conference, where feedback is encouraged, provides an opportunity to present research results that may be preliminary or potentially controversial. This year's conference will be held at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) overlooking the York River—a tributary of Chesapeake Bay. VIMS is also celebrating its 75th Anniversary through 2014 and 2015. We welcome you all as part of this celebration.

MABPOM Workshops
The organizing committee is also in the process of developing two potential workshops on the day before MABPOM (October 29, 2014) with the focus on: (1) Developing collaborative proposals for the OOI PIONEER Array, and (2) Discuss science enabled by the Gliderpalooza 2013 and 2014 experiments. If you are interested in participating in either of these potential workshops, please contact us.
