• Make a directory / folder named public_html in your home space, usually located in "samba"
• Place your web pages, including sub-folders, images, pdf's, etc., in public_html .
• The initial main web page should be named index.html. This is the default standard for the World Wide Web. The URL of your site will be http://www.vims.edu/~your_login_name. For example, if your VIMS login name is "vimsian", then your personal Web site will be http://www.vims.edu/~vimsian.
• PLEASE NOTE that public_html is for personal web pages or test web pages only. Do not maintain official VIMS web pages in this area.
