Software for Personal Use

• By virtue of association with an institution of higher education, VIMS faculty, students, and staff may qualify for substantial "academic" or "educational" discounts for software products bought for installation on personally owned computers (e.g. your home pc, your own laptop, etc).
• For example, the vendors of Adobe, Corel, and Microsoft software that is site-licensed for state owned computers, also participate in academic pricing programs for software that will be purchased by private individuals for installation on their personally owned computers.  This is true for other vendors associated with colleges and universities (e.g. the college bookstore at the local community college, etc.).
• You may be entitled to these savings and are encouraged to contact vendors and inquire about their academic pricing programs.
• The vendors may require you to furnish proof of association with a institution of higher education.
