FOOD!
Food is central to all human activities, and is a major driver of worldwide effort and transportation. Many of the foods we buy in the grocery store are produced from around the world and shipped/trucked to local markets. Your purchasing power gives you the ability to affect how environmentally friendly are both the production and transportation of the food you buy. Here's some more information on how to make the best choices, that are local, organic, and sustainable. As Michael Pollan has stated so powerfully and simply: Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
