Visitors' Brochure

This 18-page booklet (pdf) provides an overview of the Eastern Shore Laboratory's history, facilities, and services.

Animal Husbandry
Request for Animal Maintenance

Individuals wishing to use ESL facilities for the maintenance of marine organisms should first submit a completed Request for Animal Maintenance form to the Director for scheduling purposes. The Animal Maintenance form should be filled out and returned in advance. If your work involves the use of vertebrates, you should also complete the Research on Animal Subjects form and send one copy to the Animal Research Committee at William & Mary and one copy to the Eastern Shore Lab.

Animal Maintenance Schedule

It is essential that each investigator work with the Director and laboratory staff to develop a clear maintenance schedule for animal husbandry. It is absolutely imperative that this maintenance be the product of prior planning, in writing, with the Director.

Research on Animal Subjects

IACUC, IBC, and PHSC use the W&M Protocol and Compliance Management system for the electronic submission, approval, and tracking of research protocols. To access online forms  and committee policies, log in to myWM at http://my.wm.edu and click on the Self Service tab. You will see the Protocol and Compliance Management channel in the bottom center of the tab. If you have any questions about the system,  e-mail compliance@wm.edu. Visiting researchers should contact the [[luck,ESL Director]].
