Vessels
The Eastern Shore Laboratory maintains a fleet of vessels for the support of research and educational activities. The fleet includes small, shallow-draft vessels that provide access to shallow-water habitats along the seaside and bayside of the Eastern Shore as well as larger vessels for offshore work.
Sampling gear, including dredges and trawls, is available at the lab and may be checked out along with the vessels. The Monitor has a boom with power winch for retrieval of heavier gear.
Vessels cannot be rented without a VIMS-ESL vessel operator unless you have prior approval from the VIMS-ESL Watercraft Operations Manager.
