- Risk Excellence Notes A
Dept. of Energy (pdf format) newsletter formerly called DOE Risk Management Quarterly. It
is published every two months to inform the risk community of current activities and to
present developments in risk analysis.
- U.S. EPA National Center for
Environmental Assessment This website contains a variety of items including the
IRIS human risk assessment database, risk guideline documents (for carcinogens, ecological
effects, exposure assessment and reproductive toxicity), actual risk assessments, and
several additional risk tools.
- Oak Ridge
(ORNL) Ecological Risk
Analysis This useful site contains information used to do ecological risk
assessments including screening benchmarks for aquatic biota, wildlife, terrestrial
plants, sediments, and soil organisms. There are numerous guidance documents for radiation
effects, bioaccumulation, petroleum waste in soils, wildlife exposure, the general
approach to ecological risk assessment, and examples of completed risk assessments from
the U.S. DOE Oak Ridge Facility.
- OECD Chemicals Programme The
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is an international
organization founded in 1960 to enhance economic growth, living standards and financial
stability. There are currently 25 member countries including the U.S. Publications can be
purchased from the OECD that describe the toxicity test guidelines, physical-chemical
properties, effects on biota, degradation and bioaccumulation, and human health effects.
- U.S. EPA Center for Environmental
Information and Statistics (CEIS)
The Center for Environmental Information
and Statistics is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) new one-stop
source of data and information on environmental quality, status and trends. The CEIS Web
site is dedicated to providing clear information and data about environmental quality,
status and trends.
