Nutrition and Pathophysiology Lab
Our laboratory
utilizes a wide array of cellular and biochemical techniques to study
biochemical, physiological and ecological problems in the marine environment.
Our specific research interests include
fish and shellfish nutrition, plankton biochemistry, nutrient “upgrading”
and transfer between trophic levels, biochemical processes affecting fishery
production, shellfish pathophysiology, and
host-parasite interactions. In education, we are
committed to the transfer of new knowledge to students via formal class
teaching and mentoring. We strive to contribute
to the development of the next
generation of scientific-technical workforce via hands on
research and new technology training.
