Research Interests:

I am interested in conducting genetic research on a parasitic water fungus (Sirolpidium zoophthorum), and deciphering the life cycle of this organisms as well as the mode of transmission and dispersal. I am also interested in the parasite relationship in host organisms such as oysters, clams, and shrimp. Another one of my interests is to determine the geographic distribution of this parasite.

Current Projects:

I am currently using techniques that include DNA extraction, DNA quantification, PCR, and DNA sequencing to determine the genetic sequence of the strain that I am working on.

Major advisor: Dr. Eugene Burreson
