Duties/specialties: Biotoxicity assays with Pfiesteria sp. using mice, fishes, and other organisms; culturing the dinospores, concentrating the cysts, screening cultures and environmental samples with genetic protocols, i.e. PCR, light cycler, cloning and sequencing the DNA isolates, and many other aspects of the Pfiesteria project

Masters thesis: "Physical Parameters Affecting Incubating Temperatures in Loggerhead Sea Turtles, Caretta caretta, in Virginia"

Supervisors: Dr. Jeff Shields and Dr. Kim Reece

Hobbies/interests: Reptile and Amphibians, threatened and endangered species from unique environments around the world, especially the islands of the Indian Ocean.
