Department of Coastal and Ocean Policy The Department of Coastal and Ocean Policy's interdisciplinary research covers the spectrum of basic and applied science on coastal resources. Scientists work closely with estuarine and marine industries, the public, and state and federal agencies to integrate sound scientific principles into the management of coastal resources. Research in the Department is conducted by both faculty and professional scientific staff.
