Education:
B.A., 2003, Marshall University, Science Education/Environmental Studies emphasis
Environmental Education Interests:
My undergraduate research studies focused on the excavation and classification of multituberculates, small mammals that existed in the earliest Eocene of Worland, Wyoming. Shortly after graduation, my husband and I moved to Virginia where I began familiarizing myself with the Chesapeake Bay region. I began an internship with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation where I coordinated an oyster shell recycling program for Norfolk and Williamsburg.
Currently, I work as a Marine Education Specialist at the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Virginia. My goal is to use my research and teaching experience to motivate students in Mathews and Gloucester Counties to learn more about the Chesapeake Bay region by way of field trips and classroom experiences, as well as to assist teachers in implementing key elements of the Bay into their lesson plans.
