Interests:
Since my arrival
to VIMS in 1987, I have had the opportunity to work in many departments
and gain a wide variety of work experiences. I started as a technician
in the Oyster Hatchery and participated in the Oyster Outreach Program
over the next 3 years. In 1990, I transferred to the Fisheries Department
and became involved in a number of monitoring programs, which included
the Juvenile Finfish Trawl, Bluefish, and Striped Bass Monitoring
Programs. For twelve years I maintained databases for all these
projects. In 2002, I decided to switch gears and accepted a job
within the CBNERRVA program. My primary responsibilities at CBNERRVA
include coordination of the water quality monitoring program and
maintenance of associated databases, supervision of laboratory facilities,
coordination of lab and field research activities, and providing
technical support for the education program.
