Full Description
Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States, and a vast nursery area for juvenile animals. Todd Clardy, a VIMS Ph.D. student in the Fisheries department, will talk about larval fish in the Bay and describe the Bay's importance to the young of many species. Participants will view larvae through a microscope, observe specimens of larval fish, learn about sampling techniques, and partake in hands-on activities and games.
These family-friendly labs are provided by the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve at VIMS. There is no charge; however, registration is required due to limited space. Register here or call 804-684-7878 for additional information.
