IVARS

The IVARS project (for Interannual Variability in the Ross Sea) was a 5-year research project that ran from 2001-2006. The goal of the project was to learn more about year-to-year changes in the biology, physics, and chemistry of Antarctica's Ross Sea. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation and headed by VIMS researcher Dr. Walker Smith. Read the IVARS expedition blogs.
