Crossing the Southern Ocean and the Roaring 50's.

Albatross were frequently seen in the Southern Ocean.

Huge icebergs, possibly from an ice shelf or glacier

Brown ice is visible on the underside of this berg. An important part of the food web, this brown algae is food for krill. The krill are eaten by penguins which are then eaten by seals and killer whales.
