BLACK DRUM
  • Directed southerly movement of small black drum from VA to NC was documented for a single black drum (8.0” TL) in 1999 (fish released in Rudee Inlet on 9/26/98 and was recaptured at Topsail Island, NC on 10/28/99, 397 DAL).
  • Continued documentation of long-term affinity of small (<20” TL) and large (>40” TL) black drum to Chesapeake Bay was observed from 3 of 6 recapture events in 1999.
