VIMS Facilities ManagementMission StatementThe mission of the Department of Facilities Management is to effectively maintain and keep operational the campus facilities and grounds; plan for the renovation of existing and construction of new facilities; ensure that the campus physical environment is safe and enhances the efforts of the faculty, staff and students; and provide additional services in support of the Institute's programs. The land area for the Gloucester Point campus is 40.587 acres, and 3.39 acres for the Wachapreague campus. The Institute also owns an additional 30.58 acres in Gloucester County consisting of Oak Island (30 acres) and Sarah's Creek (.58 acres).
