Floating Islands

Karen Duhring, CCRM, displays some of the wetland plants available to be planted. It is important to determine wetland plant placement with regard to how tall and wide the plant will become at maturity. Karen Duhring and Julie Bradshaw work on inserting wetland plants into two of the floating islands. The VIMS Teaching Marsh pond before placement of the floating islands in late April 2012. Two of the floating islands were launched in the VIMS Teaching Marsh one day after they have been planted late April 2012.
