Research Interests
Blue Crab ecology with special interest in the importance of habitat to juvenile blue crab survival. This research is being conducted in the context of a major ecological shift occurring in the Chesapeake Bay.
Current Projects
I am currently investigating the blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) use of the benthic macro-algae Gracilaria as a habitat and refuge from predation. This study includes mesocosm experiments, a field experiment, and a field survey of crabs in the benthic macroalgae habitat.
