Research Interests

My primary reserach interest is the ecology of gelatinous zooplankton.  I am currently studying jellyfish in the Chesapeake Bay and the Sargasso Sea, including sea nettles, ctenophores, and salps.  My specific interests are the role of jellyfish on nutrient cycling, long-term trends in jellyfish populations, modeling jellyfish populations, and the fate of dead jellyfish.
