M.S. Thesis Project
I will be focusing on ecosystem modeling efforts in Cherrystone Creek, VA, which has developed a large hard clam (Mercenaria mercenaria) aquaculture industry. The project will include the development of a biogeochemical sediment model, which will be coupled with a spatial estuarine ecosystem model. Spatial analysis and overall ecosystem health of Cherrystone Creek will be assessed through simulations of differing land-use and clam capacity.
