Research Interests
My research interests broadly revolve around fish ecology with a focus on predator-prey dynamics and how feeding behavior regulates growth, distribution, competition, and habitat use of fishes. My previous research utilized stomach content analysis to address variability in fish condition and energetics. I have also explored stable isotope dynamics in fish tissues and applied these techniques in dietary assessments. My doctoral work examines food web structure at larger scales and elucidates temporally and spatially-explicit energy pathways, connectivity, and predatory impacts in Chesapeake Bay. Analyses address specific needs of ecosystem based fisheries management in Chesapeake Bay, aiding in a shift towards a multi-species management framework.
